Music Makes the World go Round

Music makes the world go round. From classical to deep and techno house, the genres of music and the people who listen to them never stop being manipulated and sculpted from what they hear.

As a DJ, this power that music has to change the mood of a room in an instant is what drives my love and passion for music. Recently the music scene has been changing quicker than ever before!

Justin Bieber moving from his hit of “Baby” to a deeper, more meaningful, possibly Selena Gomez driven “love yourself”, Stormzy taking over the grime scene with a single hit and top house producers such as Frank B and SMTA remixing all the old school classics we all know and love.

Never before has the music scene been so vibrant, along with this each and every set I play, in my eyes, becomes more and more exciting with an endless possibility of where to take the crowd on that special musical journey, whether that be in a club, bar or even a bedroom.

The articles following this one will focus on the main aspects of becoming a DJ, gaining the confidence to perform in front of a crowd, what it takes to begin to perfect the art (which I myself am nowhere near doing) as well as the importance of networking, music choice and the ability to read the crowd you’re playing for.

Recently “Touch” by Tough Love has been a huge club track only released on April 11th but trailed by the duo in venues across the country with an amazing response each and every time with its catchy vocals and incredible baseline which is guaranteed to get the dance floor moving!

Next time I will also be highlighting my top tracks along with the help of the DJ/Pro Society at the university and in the near future will be giving you guys some exciting news!

Listen, play and appreciate the music!
